Coffee is the fuel that keeps these explorers moving, so when we discovered the new Southeast Indiana Coffee Trail, you can imagine the jubilation - explore Indiana and get some yummy brew? Count us in!
It all started at one of our favorite local coffee roasters - Funny Farm Coffee Company. Charley and I stopped by before heading to school for our usual Thursday coffee and hot-chocolate date and she found the new Coffee Trail passports. A potential adventure was born!
While the kids were camping with Nana, I took the opportunity to explore solo for a bit and swing by two shops - Emily's Brew Coffee Company and The Village Smith Coffee Shop & Apothecary. Total round-trip was about 110 miles and with stops and some exploring, took about 4 hours traveling through Versailles, Batesville, Oldenburg, Metamora and Brookville.
We'd recommend visiting one stop at a time and exploring each of the quaint towns surrounding these shops. While coffee itself can be a destination, each of these towns has so much to see and do - a day or weekend could easily be filled with activities the whole family can enjoy.
Coffee Trail passports can be picked up at any of the County Tourist Boards which are all listed on the passport (photo to the right). As a bonus, the fist 100 completed passports returned by December 31, 2023 will be rewarded with a Southeast Indiana Coffee Trail mug!
Check below the passport for some details on two shops I visited!
